Pietsch Tree Farm - Special Events



February:  
Western Wisconsin's Biggest Outdoor Winter Party - Snowflake Ski Club Ski-Jumping Tournament.  Skilled jumpers from around the world soar over the 118 meter Olympic sized hill - a real thrill for jumpers and spectators alike!  This event is held in Westby, which is just a few miles from Pietsch Tree Farm B&B.  See www.snowflakeskiclub.com for dates and details.

March:  
Wisconsin Fly Fishing season opens the first full weekend in March.  Avalanche and the West Fork of the Kickapoo are just one mile away from Pietsch Tree Farm B&B. Drive a short distance in any direction for great Brook and Brown Trout action.

May:  
Syttende Mai - Westby.  The third weekend of this month brings out the Norwegian in all of Westby's residents.  Music, parade, a quilt auction, crafts, and lots of Norwegian foods are featured.

May thru October:  
Farmer's Market in Viroqua.  Agriculture is still a vital part of Southwestern Wisconsin's economy.  Farmers, including Amish, bring healthful, homegrown produce and handcrafted items to the Saturday morning market in downtown Viroqua, a short drive from Pietsch Tree Farm B&B.

June:  
Vernon County Farm Breakfast.  Traditionally held the first Saturday in June.  Visit one of the county's finest farms and enjoy a hearty meal to begin your weekend.

July:  
Organic Valley Co-op Summer Festival.  Last Saturday in July.  Organic Valley Family of Farms Co-op, the nation's largest farmer-owned organic co-op, has its' home office in LaFarge, approximately 10 miles from Pietsch Tree Farm B&B.  Many vendors, artisans, organic food demonstrations are featured, along with tours of the unique building.  There is no charge for this great day.  Families are welcome.

July - August:  
Along with other activities, have your own barbecue parties.  The private guest deck boasts a gas fired barbecue to grill your steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers.

If you need to just get away, this is a great time to do it.  Relax, put your feet up and enjoy the serenity offered at Pietsch Tree Farm B&B.  Bask in the sun with beautiful scenery or stay cool inside the air-conditioned cabin.

Summer and Fall are "best times" for biking the Driftless area.  Miles of paved county and town roads offer scenic trips.  Be prepared for challenges on steep hills or ride the level peaceful valleys.


September:  
In late September, breathtaking views will be provided by the spectacular tree covered rolling hills and glorious colors of Fall.

December:  
Winter affords many activities in this unglaciated Southwestern Wisconsin Coulee Region.  Tots and teenagers, even young-at-heart grandpas and grandmas can enjoy sledding, building snowpeople and animals, snow-shoeing and cross country skiing on the gentle slopes and steep hills they find among the 105 acres of Pietsch Tree Farm.
